Vess Creative is a brand identity and website design studio based in Langley, British Columbia. This policy explains what information I collect when you visit vesscreative.com or get in touch, how I use it, and the choices you have. I keep things simple: I only collect what I need to talk with you about your project and run my business.

What I collect

When you fill out my inquiry form or email me, I collect the details you choose to share, including:

Your name and email address
Your business name and where to find it online
Information about your business, your project, your timeline and your budget
Any inspiration links or extra notes you include
How you heard about Vess Creative

If we work together, I'll also collect the information needed to deliver your project and invoice you, such as your billing details and the content and files you send me.

When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically through my website platform and analytics tools. This can include your device and browser type, pages visited, how you arrived at the site and your general location (city or region). This information is used in aggregate and doesn't identify you by name.

How I use your information

To reply to your inquiry and talk through your project
To prepare proposals, contracts and invoices
To deliver your project and stay in touch while we work together
To understand how people use the site so I can improve it
To meet my legal, tax and accounting obligations

I don't sell your personal information, and I won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.

Who I share it with

I use a few trusted services to run my business, and they handle information on my behalf:

Wix, which hosts this website and stores form submissions
My email and business software providers, for communication, contracts, invoicing and file sharing
Analytics and advertising tools, such as Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook), which help me understand site traffic

Some of these providers store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. That means your information may be subject to the laws of those countries.

I may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep it working properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

How long it is kept

If you send an inquiry and we don't end up working together, I delete your details within 2 years. If we do work together, I keep project and billing records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes.

Keeping it safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using secure, reputable service providers and limiting access to your details. No website or online service is completely secure, but I do my best to keep your information safe.

Your choice

You can ask me to:

Show you the personal information I have about you
Correct anything that's inaccurate
Delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons
Stop using your information for a particular purpose

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
